Southern University Law Center

Southern University Law Center

We are proud to say that we are one of the most diverse law schools in the nation, in both our faculty and student body and have consistently been recognized for awarding law degrees with the most value at graduation. We have been successful in training more than 3,000 lawyers who have made their mark in all aspects of the legal profession. Our graduates are practitioners in large and small law firms, members of the judiciary, and are leaders in local, state, and national government. We are also proud of our history that's inextricably tied to the civil rights struggle dating back to the 1950s, and note that our graduates are still in the forefront of litigating cutting-edge civil and human rights issues of today. The mentoring approach that we take at the Southern University Law Center creates a special environment that undergirds the teaching and learning process and enriches our student's matriculation during law school and life beyond. Not only are we equipping our students with the tools to become outstanding lawyers, but we are also equipping them with the tools to become leaders in society.
